The chosen ones awoke after a time. Looking around themselves bleary
eyed, they found that their strength returned surprisingly quicky.
Indeed, they all felt a lot better than they ever had before. Stronger,
more alert, and starngely unfulfilled.
"Do you feel the force within?" Asked a beaming Sindair. "Young you
are, and strong now, stronger than any before you. Indeed, you are our
future, and our salvation. Look upon the city, now you have freed the power
of the force." With that he steped aside, and the chosen ones looked
down onto the city. In the time that they had been unconcious, it had totally
repaired itself.
"But that's incredible!" said Narayan. "But there are no people here.
It's so quiet..." The others listened to the velvet sound of the silence.
The city was alive with lights. Even the melted ION cannon had been replaced.
"Incredible..." whispered Culexus. "Tell me Sindair, could we now see
this prophecy we have seen come true?" He had a look of deep hope
in his eyes.
"Yes Culexus, all of you, come with me, for you must learn what it is
you are destined to achieve. With that he went to the top of the stairs,
and ran down them at the same incredible speed he had ran across the
guardroom. The three heard his voice in their heads;
"Indeed, now you can do as I can, if not better. The speed of the force is
one that will come more naturally than the rest. Come now, run down
the stairs, and let the force be thy power!"
Drekken shrugged, and tensed for a second. Then he dissapeared instantly.
Culexus looked over the side of the plinth.
"He's down there!" he exclaimed. "Nar, look!" As Narayan was looking over
the side, he ran down the stairs also, at an unbelieveable speed.
He wasn't even out of breath. He beamed at Drekken, then waved up to
Narayan, who waved back, and then in less than a second, had joined them
at the bottom of the stairs.
"Wow." Narayan said. The others nodded, and Sindair smiled.
"Now, follow me boys... If you can!" With that he dashed off in a flash
of light. Drekken smiled, and bowed before Culexus, waving his arms
in a 'after you' gesture. Culexus gave him a snappy salute, a grin,
then he was gone over the horizon. The others followed in a dash.
The gates to this building were black, made of some kind of shiny stone,
as was the rest of the building. The four of them walked over to the gates
in silence. Then Sindair indicated for them to stand back, as he walked
forward. He then pressed his forehead against the gates and whispered
in a strange language that the others could not quite hear. Then the
gates opened silently inwards. They all stepped inside.
It was pitch black inside. Then suddenly, the room they were in was
illuminated by the energy weapon Sindair had produced back at their
ship. His face was solemn as he placed his weapon into a hole in a
large flat tablet. As he did so, all the walls lifted up a thin layer
of stone, revealing lit sections containing long pieces of parchment.
Culexus walked over to the nearest one and looked at the incomprehensible
text.
"How will we know what it all says until we can read it?" he asked.
"Again my friends I must ask you to trust me until I can teach to you
the tongue of my people. I will translate all you need to know to understand."
He went to the first parchment. "'Read now the prophecy I preach. For
one day a child shall be born that shall destroy us all. He will work
in secret, then in satanity until all is lost but one.'"
"Would that be you Sindair?" asked Drekken.
"That is correct my boy. It goes on; 'The one that remains must wait
until the force is freed. Freed by the chosen ones. Decendants
of the brothers of our ancestors, they shall come with the way
to release our power from the shackles of evil and begin anew the age
of the Jedi of the Light.'" The boys saw the drawing that was there,
it was them on the plinth with Sindair watching, walking towards the
orb, hands outstretched. They looked at each other in disbelief.
Sindair walked on to the next parchment and began to translate again:
"With the force as their life, the one as their guide, and the Saber as
their weapon, they shall forge us anew, under a name of their design.
For through them shall the Jedi once again bring peace to the galaxy
torn apart by the evil one and his allies. The three children will come,
the one will be waiting, and the force that is imprisoned will be set
free. The children of Dominius will save us. And avenge our kind
against the evil.' This prophecy was written long before our downfall
by a forgotten man. If only we had heeded it at the time instead of
standing by as our end approached." he shook his head sadly...
The three boys sat down. "This is unbelievable." Narayan said. "The fight
with the TIE's, the anger and sorrow we have been through has all been
foreseen by this man, so that we could come here and start anew a ancient
race of Jedi?"
"Does the prophecy say anything of our fellow children?" asked Culexus,
meeting Sindairs stare head on.
"Yes," he answered. "but you have already foreseen what the prophecy
tells me have you not? You dreamed it before touching the orb.
'The children will grow in body and mind until the quest to find
their kindred can begin. When all evil is conquered, they may return
with all their kindred, and re-born shall the Jedi be. A few of the
kindred will be found earlier, and become chosen ones in themselves,
and aid the three on their quest. The new order will be born.'"
"That's right!" said Drekken. "I was standing on the plinth with thousands
of people-"
"Cheering in the streets-" intersected Narayan.
"With 30 or so of our best friends with us, smiling." finished Culexus.
Sindair smiled. "Yes, and one day it shall be true. But for the next
few years, we must train you all in the way in the ways of the Jedi. It
shall take some time, but it is what I have been waiting for all my life.
But first, you must choose a name for the new order. For it is to
become the saviour organisation of the galaxy."
The boys looked at each other solemly. Then, seeming to have come to a
decision without having saying any words, Narayan said;
"The Saberist,"
"Jedi," Drekken said with him.
"Dominion." Culexus finished, and his eyes flashed green as he did.
And then all was light. SJD was born.
