VDS was formed from the old clan Council in May 2000. Early in the year 2000, Klavier came up with the idea to make Council an all-elite clan and suggested to get rid of the bad and even decent players, with only the best remaining. Lyricist, Council's leader at that time, agreed with Klavier and decided to reorganize and restructure the entire clan. So after a few weeks, Council transformed into VDS.

The transformation worked out great: VDS has won more awards than any other JK-clan and it's clear VDS was one of the most successful clans ever to play the game Jedi Knight.

After the release of Jedi Knight 2, we all stopped playing JK1 and made plans to move to JK2. Unfortunately, JK2 appeared to be an incredibly pathetic multiplayer-game, so only very few of us are still playing it.

We're currently just playing other games, discussing things on our message board, and we're looking at other games that might be cool enough to get involved in.

We haven't given up on JK2 yet: There are some interesting mods in development, and a possible new patch might make it a fun game after all. Another game that looks very promising to get into is Star Wars:Galaxies.
