btag.txt 12-31-98 Brian Taylor rbf@jedilegacy.net JEDI KNIGHT BLASTER TAG Description: Based on the game Laser Tag, Blaster Tag takes the elements of traditional LT and throws it into the Star Wars universe. It's also a celebration of SendTrigger(), and probably the only mod to use every version of JED thus far. This file contains a list of features, basic descriptions of the levels (called Arenas), and the credits (since there are a lot), plus how to use the file. Usage: Place blastertag.gob into your episode directory, and run JK as normal. Choose to start a multiplayer game, and on the level select screen pick "Jedi Blaster Tag" as your episode. For the Force level we recommend 4 or below, thus allowing only neutral powers. ---- Features: Players: When a player is shot, they are magsealed, surrounded by particles that correspond to the team they are on, and are unable to shoot for 5 seconds after being shot. Jails: If a player dies, they will respawn in a jail. Players will be teleported out of the jail to a random position after 60 seconds unless someone opens the door to their jail.If a person enters the jail and gets stuck, they will be teleported out 60 seconds after entering. Targets (AKA Those spinning things): There are several targets located around the arenas. When shot, the target will stop spinning for 10 seconds and become magsealed. After the 10 seconds they can be shot again. Scoring: Shooting other player: 1 point for you, one point for team Shooting target: 2 points for you, none for team Player dying: 3 points lost for your team. Player not being released from jail: 3 more points lost. Weapons: The explosive weapons (mines, TDs, conc. rifle, RD) are not available. Neither is the crossbow, due to some problems with it. The saber does not give you points if you slash with it, however, if you deflect blaster bolts at a person and hit, you will get points. Recharging: When you reach 0 energy cells, they will begin to recharge at a rate of three cells every two seconds. This will continue till around 50, till you shoot a weapon that uses the cells, or you pick up more cells. ---- Arenas: Hunt the Wampa: Set on Hoth, this arena is made of two sets of caves with an ice field in the middle. Death occurs more often on this level than others. Depot: Outdoor arena with lowered gravity and several buildings. Climb to the top of the corner towers for a special gift. So named for the area you start in. The Duel: A conversion of the JK CTF level, with some added pitfalls. This level is probably the best one to get the feel of Blaster Tag on, since it should be familiar to most players. ---- Credits and Thanks: There are a lot of people we have to thank for this. Might as well get started. WGWS, for getting the three of us together and getting this project started. The Code Alliance, for JED, MatMaster, CogWriter, Invaluable documentation, etc. Speak and Jedi Legacy, for hosting our site. Yves Borckmans, who explained the entire "trigger" thing. Annie, for reminding us that the sun WILL come out tomorrow. Dark Knight, for CogEd. Pele of the Code Alliance, for those early beta testing sessions and other stuff. LucasArts, for giving us JK. All our beta testers, many of whose suggestions make up BT.
