Sabers - Which sabercolour can I use?

In some clans, ranks define the sabercolours. In ORJ, we use a different system, based upon the Old Republic.
The use of a certain sabercolour signals a Jedi's attitude towards the Force.

Members are strongly advised to choose a colour that suits their style of playing Jedi Knight / Mysteries of the Sith (MotS), Try to stick to a certain colour. Only change colour when you change your overall style. This way, you communicate the right signal about your attitude towards the Force and it will help the coloursystem work.
Mind that these rules for the use of sabercolours always apply, also when playing with other players than ORJ members!

Green is for trickery. Jedi who rely upon the Force powers of the mind, use green sabers. These Jedi mainly use Force powers like Force Blinding, Force Persuasion (Jedi Mind Trick) and Force Projection (MotS only). Of course these Jedi use other Force powers on the side.

Blue (dark blue or light blue) is for saberists. These Jedi focus all their energy and Force on being supreme swordsmen. Force Saberthrow is probably their most often used Force power. Of course they use all the Force Powers, but they tend to keep it to a minimum. After all, as a Light side Jedi, in the end it's always going to be your lightsaber that brings your opponent down, beside the occasional Force Push or kick.

Silver sabers are often found on Jedi who use only the neutral Force powers (Force Jump, Force Speed, Force Seeing, Force Pull, Force Push and Force Saberthrow).

Yellow or orange is for Jedi who are more force-relying. They tend to use a lot of Force powers, such as Force Speed, Force Jump, Force Push and others. Jedi who use this color actually use all Force powers, and more often than, for example, saberists.

Purple or violet is the colour of importance. Purple and violet are somewhat rarely encountered because of the special sort of crystals needed to create that kind of colour. In ORJ, the purple and violet sabers are being exclusively used by the very best saberists of the clan, the Master Saberists. Of each of these two sabercolours, there may only be one member who uses it  in ORJ. For more info on this subject, view the Ranks section below.

Red (dark or light) is only for Sith or Dark Jedi. It is the colour of power, warning, danger, blood, hatred, destruction and chaos. Keep in mind that some Dark jedi use sabercolours other than red, for example Sariss (blue), Yun (yellow) and Boc (pink). Red sabers are outlawed in ORJ.

These sabercolours and their meaning have been derived from the Knights of the Old Republic:

Blue - Jedi Guardian
Yellow / Orange - Jedi Sentinel
Green - Jedi Consular

Skins - Which skin can I use?

Basically, you can use any skin, as long as it's not taken by another member of ORJ, and as long as it's not clearly a Dark side character, a gunner or some otherwise unsuitable character. To check which skins are taken by members, view our members section. Below is a list of skins that are currently available in ORJ.

Once you have chosen a skin that really suits you, you have to keep using that one skin.
If you want to build some kind of reputation and if you want people to recognize you, it's always better to stick to a certain skin.

For your convenience, we provide 4 images with all the SBX skins that are allowed in ORJ.
Next to each image it lists the currently available skins from that image.

Ranks - Which rank will I be?

Most joiners start out as Jedi Learners and receive basic training. They become Padawans when chosen by a Jedi Knight or Master Jedi.

The Jedi trials
Members with a certain skill and a good attitude may become
Jedi Knights, but they will have to do the Jedi trials. This is just because trials are a very cool thing to do, and it really feels like a reward to be knighted after doing your trials. The Jedi trials consist of a number of tests;
a Force contest, some physical tests, a saberskill test and some others which will be secret untill you do your trials.
You cannot ask for trials. "Determine who is ready, the
Council will."

The Master Saberist
Master Saberist is not a rank, but a title given by the clan leaders to the very best saberists in the clan. Master Saberists are vital to the clan and are entitled to use the purple and violet sabers. Every once in a while, the clan may call for a clan tourney (at least 10 collected votes),
to determine who will get to use the purple and violet sabers.
Note:
Master Saberists have the right to use purple or violet,
but they may use their preferred sabercolour and keep the purple or violet for special occasions.

Guidelines for Jedi Knights and Senior Knights
Jedi Knights are expected to be supportive of the Jedi Learners. Jedi Knights must be inspiring members of good conduct and are allowed and encouraged to give training to the Jedi Learners they choose as their Padawans.
Jedi Knights are expected to support eachother and above all not to get into arguments with eachother.
Serious conflicts should be avoided and, if occuring, laid before the
Council.
Knights may take certain responsibilities if they wish, but they will need approval of the Council. Knights (and Senior Knights) may occasionally be asked by the Council to vote on certain matters. Jedi Knights who have succesfully trained at least one Padawan, may become Senior Knights. They will also need a majority vote of the Council. Considered will be the amount of experience, time of service, honour, etc.

After having served for some time, Senior Knights of exemplary conduct with a lot of patience and skill in teaching may be tried to become Master Jedi. Masters train Padawans, just like Jedi Knights. Out of the Master Jedi and Jedi Knights & Senior Knights, the Council members are chosen for their wisdom. This is a democratic process with an official vote. The Council Members rule the Order, they are the people who get to make the decisions on important issues, such as wars (with other clans), alliances, voting on new members.
