My First Level (JED file number 3) Unreleased
The first level I created in Jed was very simple yet provided me with a crash course in learning sector cleaving, surface texturing, and lighting. There is a main room that connects a small flight bay with a stairway leading up to a door, with one stormtrooper blocking the way.
Oh, oh, the door is locked! Hidden behind the crates is a grate you can slash to enter a ventilation duct. You guessed it, the first COG that I installed was the slashgrate cog. When I started lighting, I made sure to provide light sources for the lighting, such as the small light above the crates (cleaved textured surface).
I made many newbie mistakes including high stair steps you have to jump up.
I had more trouble figuring out how doors worked. The infamous "Hall of mirrors" (HOM) effect from adjoin problems with the door sector. It wasn't too bad for a start. I got doors working better in my next level.
